Here at Starlight Dance & Musical Theatre School we are proud to be affiliated with the world's leading examination boards in classical dance: Royal Academy of Dance, and The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing.

Ewan Mcilwain

Front of House

Ewan has been at Starlight Corby since 2019 starting his dance journey in our Show team class. He now trains in many styles of dance at Starlight such as RAD Ballet, ISTD Tap, Jazz, Contemporary and outside of Starlight is studying A levels in sixth form. Ewan has taken his Grade 4 and 5 Ballet exams with the RAD and achieved a Distinction. He also received a Distinction in his Grade 3 ISTD Tap exam.

Ruby Bellamy

Teacher

Miss Ruby is a passionate dancer, and teacher currently training at Wilkes Academy. With over a lot of experience performing in professional pantomimes and stage productions, she brings a wealth of stage knowledge and creative energy to every class she teaches. Most recently, Ruby choreographed and Dancer for A Celebration of Music – Joseph Smile (September 2025), a vibrant production that featured celebrated performers such as Brenda Edwards, Lee Mead, and Oscar Hartland. Ruby’s stage career began at a young age, performing for Crossroads Pantomimes and Imagine Theatre in productions including Snow White, Jack and the Beanstalk, Sleeping Beauty, Aladdin, Cinderella, Peter Pan, and Beauty and the Beast. These experiences helped her develop a strong foundation in performance, teamwork, and stagecraft. Alongside her performing work, Ruby has developed a real passion for teaching. She has extensive experience working with children and young dancers, helping them build confidence, technique, and a love for dance. She is ISTD CPD trained in Contemporary Dance and is currently completing her Level 4 DDE qualifications in Tap and Modern with the ISTD. Miss Ruby brings enthusiasm, creativity, and professionalism to every class — inspiring her students to express themselves through dance while nurturing their technical ability and performance confidence.
